Job Description
**Job Title** System Engineer **Role Summary** Design, deploy, and maintain enterprise network infrastructure, including routing and switching equipment. Manage network performance, security, documentation, and collaboration across IT/OT and manufacturing departments, ensuring adherence to change control and industry best practices. **Expectations** * 6‑month contract with potential extension or permanent conversion based on performance. * Successful drug screening and background check required. * Ability to operate on both Gaffney, SC and Gastonia, NC sites (travel to either location as needed). **Key Responsibilities** - Install and configure routers and switches following formal change‑control procedures. - Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve network-related issues across the enterprise. - Proactively monitor network performance and implement improvements. - Maintain and update network documentation and diagrams. - Enforce network policies and industry best‑practice standards. - Collaborate with manufacturing teams to identify and fulfill network requirements. - Apply security best practices, including risk, vulnerability, and incident response management. - Plan, test, and upgrade network equipment to current stable releases. - Act as liaison between IT and OT departments, facilitating communication and problem resolution. - Translate communication requirements into firewall rule requests. - Participate in change management, backup & recovery, and asset management initiatives. **Required Skills** - Deep understanding of the OSI model/TCP‑IP stack. - Hands‑on experience configuring Cisco networking gear (minimum 1 year). - Knowledge of information security principles and practices. - Familiarity with Purdue PERA model or similar industrial cybersecurity frameworks. - Strong troubleshooting and analytical abilities. - Excellent communication skills and the ability to work cross‑functionally. **Required Education & Certifications** - CCNA certification (or equivalent). - Desired: CCNP certification. - Desired: OT/ICS knowledge and certifications. ---
