Job title: Back End Developer
Role Summary:
- Develop, maintain, and enhance server‑side components for web applications, collaborating with a cross‑functional agile team to deliver scalable, high‑performance solutions.
Expectations:
- 3+ years of professional experience in back‑end development.
- Proven ability to design and implement robust APIs (REST, GraphQL, SOAP).
- Experience with databases and ORMs (SQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Sequelize).
- Familiarity with front‑end frameworks (React, Next.js, Material UI) to support full‑stack coordination.
- Commitment to code quality, automated testing, and documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, code, test, and deploy back‑end services using Node.js and Express.
- Integrate and optimize database schemas and ORMs for performance and maintainability.
- Collaborate with front‑end developers to ensure seamless API integration.
- Write unit, integration, and end‑to‑end tests; maintain test suites and coverage metrics.
- Participate in code reviews, agile ceremonies, and sprint planning.
- Troubleshoot production issues, conduct root‑cause analysis, and implement fixes.
- Contribute to open‑source projects and internal tooling where applicable.
Required Skills:
- Proficiency in Node.js, Express, and modern JavaScript/TypeScript.
- Strong knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases; comfortable writing complex queries and migrations.
- Experience with ORMs (Sequelize, TypeORM, Mongoose).
- API design and versioning best practices.
- Familiarity with automated task runners (Grunt, Gulp) and build tools.
- Version control expertise with Git and typical CI/CD pipelines.
- Test‑driven development mindset; skills in Mocha, Chai, Jest, Supertest, or equivalent.
- Excellent problem‑solving, communication, and teamwork abilities.
- Self‑motivated with a willingness to learn new technologies.
Required Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (preferred).
- Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Developer, Microsoft Azure Developer) are a plus.
