Job title: HVAC Systems Engineer
Role Summary:
Design robust HVAC solutions for mission‑critical greenfield projects, integrating mechanical and electrical components to achieve maximum reliability, redundancy, and performance. Utilize CAD, FEA, and other analysis tools to meet strict codes and zero‑downtime requirements from concept through production.
Expactations:
• Deliver fully integrated, fail‑safe HVAC designs that meet reliability and uptime targets.
• Maintain adherence to project cost, quality, and schedule constraints.
• Produce accurate documentation and support cross‑functional teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop end‑to‑end HVAC solutions, integrating chassis, cooling, power supplies, and control systems.
- Design for fault tolerance, redundancy, and continuous availability in mission‑critical environments.
- Conduct structural, thermal, and electrical simulations (FEA, CFD, power analysis) to predict performance and mitigate failure modes.
- Build prototypes, perform rigorous testing, and validate designs against performance and environmental standards.
- Collaborate with systems, software, sourcing, and manufacturing teams to balance cost, quality, and timeline goals.
- Create detailed schematics, drawings, BOMs, and design specifications.
Required Skills:
- CAD (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Creo) and analysis tools (ANSYS, Abaqus, thermal CFD).
- Electrical knowledge: power distribution, control systems, cable management, and compliance with IEC/UL/NEMA standards.
- Mechanical expertise: enclosure design, sheet metal, thermal management, structural integrity, DFM/DFA.
- HVAC system design for data centers, defense or high‑availability infrastructure.
- Project management: risk assessment, budget control, timeline management.
Required Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s (or higher) degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.
- Proven experience in HVAC or related system engineering for mission‑critical applications.
- Certifications in CAD/FEA tools or project management (e.g., PMP) are desirable.
