Job Description

Job title: Senior Software Developer (Java/Spring Boot) Role Summary: Lead the development and integration of a new debit‑card processing platform for a banking client, replacing a legacy system. Work collaboratively to deliver secure, scalable, and maintainable Java/Spring Boot solutions within an 18–24 month engagement. Expectations: - Deliver robust, well‑tested code that meets performance, security, and reliability standards. - Communicate progress, risks, and technical decisions to cross‑functional teams. - Maintain continuous delivery pipelines and adhere to security best practices. Key Responsibilities: - Design, code, test, and deploy Java 17 / Spring Boot 3.x services. - Develop RESTful APIs and integrate with 30+ banking applications via middleware. - Configure and manage DevSecOps tooling (OAuth/JWT, Kubernetes/Docker, Jenkins, GitHub). - Implement and consume message streams with Kafka or RabbitMQ. - Optimize SQL queries and manage database interactions. - Participate in Agile ceremonies using Jira and Confluence, and contribute to sprint planning and retrospectives. Required Skills: - Senior proficiency in Java 17 and Spring Boot 3.x. - API development and object–relational mapping. - Experience integrating banking systems (Payments or Cards). - DevSecOps experience: OAuth/JWT, Kubernetes/Docker, Jenkins, GitHub. - Messaging middleware: Kafka or RabbitMQ. - Strong SQL and relational database knowledge. - End‑to‑end SDLC ownership with minimal guidance. - Agile methodology (Jira/Confluence). - Excellent problem‑solving and written/verbal communication. Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
