**Job Title** Enterprise macOS/Linux Lab Automation Platform Designed by Former Apple Engineers **Role Summary** Laboratory Engineer responsible for managing and maintaining a macOS/Linux automation platform. Duties include device configuration, network troubleshooting, scripting, log analysis, and lab infrastructure upkeep. **Expectations** - Immediate availability to join the team - Preferred candidates with Apple experience or recent releases from Apple - Strong referral network; referrals highly valued **Key Responsibilities** - Configure and maintain macOS/Linux command‑line environments - Set up and manage SSH keys, perform basic network configuration, and resolve IP‑assignment issues (e.g., duplicate IPs) - Develop and maintain Python and/or Shell scripts for automation tasks - Use Git for version control and repository management - Analyze system logs, identify recurring error patterns, and document findings - Employ tools such as `tar` to collect, compress, and distribute log files - Execute device restores, apply updates, and perform routine laboratory upkeep tasks **Required Skills** - Proficient macOS (or Linux) CLI usage - SSH key management and basic networking knowledge - IP assignment troubleshooting - Basic scripting in Python and/or Shell - High‑level understanding of Git operations - Log analysis and pattern recognition - Use of archiving tools like `tar` - Hands‑on lab management (device restore, update, maintenance) **Required Education & Certifications** - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience) - Certifications not specified; relevant technical certifications may be considered a plus.
