Job Description
**Job Title** Human Resources Business Partner (12 Month Contract) **Role Summary** Provide strategic and operational HR support to division leaders to align HR practices with business objectives. Manage the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, employee relations, disability and accommodation management, and succession planning. Act as a liaison between management and workforce to ensure compliance with legislation and internal policies while driving continuous improvement of HR services. **Expectations** - Deliver HR strategy that supports business goals and promotes a high‑performance culture. - Ensure compliance with federal, provincial, and collective agreement requirements. - Build strong relationships with managers across all levels and facilitate effective HR solutions. - Proactively identify workforce trends, mitigate risks, and recommend actionable improvements. - Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives and maintain accurate reporting. **Key Responsibilities** - Administer HR processes (recruitment, onboarding, performance management, compensation, benefits) and full employee lifecycle. - Coach and advise managers on performance improvement, coaching, and employee development. - Interpret HR policies and collective agreements, and resolve employee relations issues. - Manage disability claims, accommodation requests, and early‑return programs. - Support diversity initiatives and maintain equal‑employment opportunity records. - Conduct data research, analysis, and reporting for assigned projects. - Participate in supervisor and managerial onboarding. - Communicate HR policies effectively across the organization and coordinate cross‑functional initiatives. - Travel occasionally and perform additional duties as required. **Required Skills** - 5‑7 years progressive HR experience, preferably unionised. - Expertise in disability management, attendance support, and health‑related absences. - Knowledge of compensation and benefits fundamentals. - Strong communication and interpersonal skills with ability to influence at all levels. - Ability to manage multiple priorities, exercise discretion, and maintain confidentiality. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Excel, PowerPoint, Word). - Valid G driver’s licence and willingness to travel. **Required Education & Certifications** - Post‑secondary degree or diploma in Human Resources or related field, or equivalent professional experience. - Professional HR certification (CHRP, CHRL, or CHRE). - Understanding of federal and provincial employment legislation and collective bargaining agreements.
