Job title: Technical Supervisor
Role Summary:
Lead the operation, maintenance, and quality control of multi-disciplinary construction and infrastructure projects, ensuring adherence to project specifications, health and safety standards, and cost targets while coordinating subcontractors and stakeholders.
Expectations:
- Report directly to the Manager, Contract & Operations.
- Maintain rigorous quality and safety compliance.
- Deliver projects on time, within budget, and to client and regulatory standards.
- Demonstrate proactive risk management and problem‑solving.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and monitor a comprehensive Quality Control (QC) plan covering material inspection, work readiness, progress monitoring, and final verification.
- Manage subcontractor workflow: order materials, conduct site orientation, oversee training, ensure testing and inspections, and enforce site cleanliness.
- Update and maintain the Master Schedule daily, reporting delays, deficiencies, and major issues to management.
- Support productivity and cost control: prepare cost analyses, budgets, interim and final contractor/supplier accounts, accurate pricing, variance ratings, sundry accounts, payment mechanisms, and records management.
- Ensure compliance with the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) and relevant regulations.
- Coordinate delivery across construction (industrial/commercial/residential), HVAC, electrical, civil, building operations, roadways, and maintenance disciplines.
- Maintain a clean driving abstract; conduct daily vehicle inspections and monthly inventories when using company vehicles.
- Perform risk monitoring and implement quality control management processes.
Required Skills:
- Technical knowledge in HVAC, electrical, civil, construction, and building operations.
- Strong QC management, standards, and process implementation.
- Project scheduling, cost analysis, budgeting, and financial tracking.
- Health and safety expertise and risk management.
- Leadership, communication, organization, and problem‑solving.
- Subcontractor management, procurement, and material coordination.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, project management software, and documentation tools.
- Clean driving record and ability to perform vehicle inspections.
Required Education & Certifications:
- Diploma or degree in Building, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related commercial field.
- Certification or training in Ontario OHSA Health & Safety compliance.
- Criminal record check (clean).
- Preferred certifications: PMP, CCM, or equivalent project management/contractor qualifications.
