Job title: Data Scientist
Role Summary: Lead advanced analytics initiatives by transforming large, complex datasets into actionable insights. Develop and deploy predictive models using statistical and machine‑learning techniques to support strategic decision‑making across multiple industry sectors.
Expactations: Minimum 8 years of professional data‑science experience. Proven track record of building end‑to‑end solutions (feature engineering, model training, deployment, monitoring) in enterprise settings. Strong written and verbal communication skills for translating analytical findings to non‑technical stakeholders. Fluent in French; English proficiency desirable.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collect, clean, and process vast, heterogeneous datasets to uncover trends and patterns.
- Design, train, evaluate, and tune statistical and machine‑learning models (e.g., regression, classification, clustering, deep learning) using Python and R.
- Collaborate with business units to define analytical requirements, translate business questions into data science problems, and align model outputs with operational objectives.
- Produce clear, visualized reports and dashboards that communicate insights and recommendations to senior stakeholders.
- Experiment with and implement emerging analytics methods to continuously improve model performance and analytical workflows.
- Document methodologies, code, and outcomes for reproducibility and knowledge transfer.
Required Skills:
- Expertise in data analysis, statistics, and predictive modeling.
- Mastery of Python (pandas, NumPy, scikit‑learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch) and R (tidyverse, caret, mlr3).
- Experience with ML pipelines, model deployment, and monitoring tools (e.g., MLflow, SageMaker, Azure ML).
- Strong SQL and familiarity with data‑warehouse concepts (ETL, data‑lake).
- Excellent presentation and storytelling abilities; ability to simplify complex concepts.
- Team‑orientated, collaborative mindset with a detail‑driven analytical approach.
Required Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related field; higher degrees preferred.
- Professional certifications such as TensorFlow Developer, Certified Analytics Professional (CAP), or Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Scientist Associate are advantageous.
