Job Description: Job Title: Senior Software Engineer Role Summary: Lead the design, implementation, and operation of scalable backend services, primarily using PHP (Laravel) and cloud infrastructure, to support a high‑traffic platform for creative professionals. Expectations: Demonstrated ability to deliver complex backend solutions from concept through production, maintain high reliability, mentor peers, and drive continuous improvement in performance, security, and developer experience. Key Responsibilities: - Design, develop, and evolve scalable backend systems and APIs. - Own end‑to‑end backend initiatives: technical design, coding, testing, deployment, and post‑deployment operations. - Participate in system design and architectural discussions for distributed, resilient services. - Optimize relational databases (MySQL/PostgreSQL), implement caching (Redis), and improve query performance. - Operate production environments: monitoring, incident response, root‑cause analysis, and reliability enhancement. - Mentor junior engineers through code reviews and best‑practice guidance. - Collaborate cross‑functionally to translate product requirements into technical solutions. Required Skills: - 5+ years of experience building production‑grade backend systems. - Proficiency in PHP with modern frameworks (Laravel, Symfony). - RESTful API design and implementation. - Relational database design, query optimization, and caching strategies. - Distributed systems concepts, API integrations, and performance tuning. - Cloud deployment (AWS) with monitoring, scaling, and reliability best practices. - Incident management, on‑call experience, and post‑incident improvement. - Strong communication, stakeholder alignment, and risk management. - Mentoring and fostering high‑performance engineering culture. Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (preferred). - Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, PHP certifications) are a plus.
