Job Description
**Job Title:** Engineering Internship **Role Summary:** Hands‑on engineering role focused on propulsion system development through the complete engine life cycle—requirements definition, CAD modeling, performance testing, configuration management, and production readiness. The internship includes 3–6 month rotational assignments in design, performance, or product engineering, with mentorship to build technical competency and engineering rigor. **Expactations:** - 3–6 month rotation(s) in one or more functional areas: Design Engineering, Performance Engineering, Product Engineering. - Deliver tangible engineering outputs (drawings, test data, BOMs, reports) within specified time frames. - Maintain documentation accuracy, revision control, and compliance with change‑control processes. - Participate actively in cross‑functional reviews and continuous‑improvement initiatives. - Apply foundational engineering principles to real‑world propulsion projects. **Key Responsibilities:** *Design Engineering* – Update CAD models/drawings, perform tolerance/structural analyses, support change‑control documentation, attend design reviews. *Performance Engineering* – Setup instrumentation, collect and analyze test data, generate performance plots, contribute to root‑cause investigations, produce test summary reports. *Product Engineering* – Verify and update BOMs, aid configuration audits, resolve production issues, develop risk‑mitigation proposals, support customer trade studies. *All Rotations* – Ensure data integrity, adhere to revision control, present findings to leadership, support continuous‑improvement initiatives. **Required Skills:** - Proficiency in CAD (SolidWorks or equivalent). - Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities. - Competency in Excel and basic data‑analysis techniques. - Understanding of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, or structural fundamentals (preferred). - Familiarity with change‑control (ECR/ECO/ECN) and configuration‑management processes. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field. - Junior or Senior standing preferred. ---
