Job Description

**Job title**: R&D Test & Development Engineer **Role Summary**: Lead the testing, troubleshooting, and refinement of both full systems and subcomponents within a multidisciplinary R&D environment. Design and assemble prototype test fixtures, acquire and analyze experimental data, and deliver clear technical reports to drive product development forward. **Expectations**: - Practical problem‑solver comfortable operating at the intersection of engineering, software, and biology. - Able to design, build, and iterate test setups, and critique results with confidence. - Operate at a mid‑to‑senior Technician/Engineer level, adapting quickly to new tools and workflows. **Key Responsibilities**: 1. Plan and execute structured tests to characterize performance of systems and subcomponents. 2. Collect, analyze, and present experimental data in actionable reports. 3. Design and build prototype test fixtures (mechanical, electrical, and software). 4. Use Python, LabVIEW, or equivalent tools to acquire, manipulate, and visualize data from cameras, serial interfaces, TCP/IP, etc. 5. Develop expertise in cartridge/instrument test workflows. 6. Maintain the test database and associated software tools. 7. Collaborate with engineering, software, and biology teams to ensure practical delivery of systems. **Required Skills**: - Hands‑on experience in a lab or test environment. - Strong data acquisition and analysis proficiency (Python or LabVIEW). - Ability to design and construct simple test fixtures or experimental setups. - Clear, structured technical reporting. - Critical thinking and willingness to challenge outcomes. **Desirable (Additional) Skills**: - Vision systems or image‑processing knowledge. - Basic electronics for test and prototype work. - Cross‑disciplinary experience working with engineering, software, and biology teams. **Required Education & Certifications**: - Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience).
