Quality Assurance Specialist
**Role Summary**
A Quality Assurance Specialist responsible for creating comprehensive test plans and cases for embedded edge devices and media management products, executing manual and automated tests across the SDLC, logging and tracking defects in JIRA, collaborating with engineering and product teams, and ensuring timely, defect‑free releases.
**Expactations**
- Deliver complete test coverage for each product release within defined timelines.
- Produce accurate, actionable bug reports and facilitate prompt resolution.
- Maintain current test suites and documentation to support regression and new‑feature testing.
- Communicate status, risks, and release readiness to stakeholders and QA leadership.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Design, write, and maintain test cases (black‑box, white‑box, GUI) for new features and regression.
- Manage test plans in JIRA/Xray; update coverage matrices and run test cycles.
- Execute manual hardware/software tests across Linux, macOS, Windows environments.
- Analyze logs and troubleshoot issues using UNIX commands.
- Capture, document, and verify defect fixes; re‑test and close bugs in JIRA.
- Represent QA in sync meetings with developers and product owners.
- Generate test reports, obtain approvals, and support customer delivery.
- Define requirements for automated test scripts and execute automation delivered by the automation team.
- Assist product management and technical support with customer inquiries as needed.
**Required Skills**
- 3+ years QA experience with embedded/audiovisual products.
- Proficiency in test case creation, test planning, and defect tracking (JIRA, Xray).
- Strong understanding of audio/video standards (MPEG‑2/4, HEVC, H.264, AAC) and streaming protocols (TS/UDP, RTP, SRT, NDI, RTMP).
- Ability to troubleshoot network and media playback issues.
- Experience with Linux, macOS, and Windows operating systems.
- Analytical skills: log analysis, problem identification, risk mitigation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication in English and French.
- Autonomous, detail‑oriented, proactive team player.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent industry experience.
- Certifications in QA methodologies or test management (e.g., ISTQB, CSM) preferred.
