**Job Title:** AI/ML Engineer
**Role Summary:**
Design and implement large language model (LLM)‑powered agents, retrieval‑augmented generation (RAG) pipelines, and predictive models that leverage clinical and genomic data. Deliver end‑to‑end machine learning solutions from data ingestion to production, establishing LLMOps/MLOps foundations that guarantee reliability, privacy, and interoperability.
**Expectations:**
- Deliver robust, clinically compliant AI systems that accelerate product development across multiple disease areas.
- Achieve scalable personalization for providers and patients while maintaining model calibration, explainability, and fairness.
- Lead adoption of CI/CD, model registries, and reproducible pipelines for LLM and ML deployments.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- **AI Agents & LLM Systems:** design agentic workflows, build RAG pipelines with up‑to‑date medical knowledge, develop & version prompts, integrate tool‑calling APIs.
- **Predictive Modeling & Feature Engineering:** enhance disease‑risk and polygenic‑risk models using structured EHR, clinical notes, labs, and imaging; apply NLP for entity mapping and embeddings; ensure fairness across cohorts.
- **LLMOps/MLOps & Productionization:** set up CI/CD, feature stores, prompt registries; monitor cost, latency, GPU/CPU utilization; implement caching strategies.
- **Cross‑Functional Collaboration:** work with engineering, product, clinical, lab, and research teams to define requirements, timelines, and KPIs; communicate risks and best practices.
**Required Skills:**
- PhD in CS, EE, Bioinformatics **or** 5+ years industry ML experience.
- Python + PyTorch/TensorFlow; solid software engineering fundamentals.
- LLM development & fine‑tuning, prompt design, function/tool calling, RAG, vector databases (FAISS, Pinecone, Weaviate).
- AI agent frameworks (LangChain, LangGraph, CrewAI, AutoGen) for multi‑step workflows.
- SQL and distributed data processing (Spark/Databricks).
**Nice to Have:**
- Healthcare data standards (HL7 FHIR, OMOP, SNOMED CT, ICD‑10/11, LOINC, RxNorm).
- HIPAA/GDPR compliance, PHI handling, encryption, RBAC, audit logging.
- Genomic data, clinical NLP, imaging models, LoRA/PEFT, RHLF/RLAIF, federated learning.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- PhD in CS, EE, Bioinformatics, or related field **or** equivalent experience.
- Relevant certifications in ML/AI, data privacy, or healthcare informatics are a plus.
