Azure Data Architect

Job Description

Job title: Azure Data Architect Role Summary: Design and implement end‑to‑end data solutions on Microsoft Azure, leveraging services such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, Azure Databricks, Cosmos DB, and Azure Purview. Own data architecture, modeling, governance, and performance optimization across transactional and analytical workloads. Expectations: • Minimum 8 years of experience in data architecture, with at least 3 years focused on Azure cloud. • Proven track record delivering large‑scale Azure data pipelines and integrated analytics solutions. • Strong business‑to‑technical translation skills, working collaboratively with stakeholders. Key Responsibilities: 1. Architecture design and implementation of Azure data platforms (ADF, Synapse, Databricks, Cosmos DB). 2. Develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models for both transactional and analytical systems. 3. Establish and enforce data governance, security, and compliance frameworks (Purview, RBAC, encryption, audit). 4. Optimize pipelines, storage, and compute for performance and cost (FinOps practices). 5. Integrate Big Data and AI/ML pipelines into the data fabric. 6. Mentor and collaborate with cross‑functional teams (engineering, analytics, business). 7. Maintain documentation, standards, and best‑practice guidelines. Required Skills: • Azure services: Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, Azure Databricks, Cosmos DB, Purview, Azure Lakehouse. • SQL and NoSQL data modeling, ETL/ELT development, incremental data processing. • Experience with Big Data frameworks (Spark, Hadoop), ML integration. • Data governance, security, and compliance (GDPR, HIPAA). • Performance tuning, caching, partitioning, and cost‑management in Azure. • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills. Required Education & Certifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience). • Azure Data Engineer Associate (DP-203) or Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-303/304) preferred.
