**Job Title:** Backend Engineer – Unichain **Role Summary:** Develop and own backend systems for Unichain, an Ethereum Layer‑2 solution focused on DeFi liquidity. Design, implement, and operate high‑performance, reliable infrastructure using Rust and cloud technologies while collaborating across teams to solve complex blockchain and distributed‑system challenges. **Expectations:** - 5+ years of professional backend engineering experience with production‑grade systems. - Proven ability to work in ambiguous environments, break down problems, and deliver end‑to‑end solutions. - Strong focus on reliability, performance, and scalability of distributed services. - Demonstrated interest in Web3 and blockchain technologies. **Key Responsibilities:** - Scope, design, develop, test, and deploy backend services for Unichain. - Write clean, well‑tested Rust code and conduct thorough code reviews. - Build and maintain 24/7 infrastructure ensuring high availability and performance. - Identify system gaps, propose improvements, and implement fixes. - Participate in on‑call rotations and respond to production incidents. - Collaborate cross‑functionally to translate ambiguous requirements into concrete technical plans. **Required Skills:** - Proficiency in Rust (or ability to quickly become proficient). - Experience with distributed systems or blockchain infrastructure. - Strong understanding of cloud architecture, system design, and large‑scale debugging. - Ability to build systems from 0→1 and iterate over time. - Familiarity with observability, logging, and time‑series monitoring tools. - Comfortable with Go or TypeScript (preferred but not mandatory). **Required Education & Certifications:** - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience). - No specific certifications required; industry‑recognized certifications in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS) are a plus.
