**Job Title:** VMO Analyst
**Role Summary:**
The VMO Analyst acts as a strategic partner to Health Applications leadership, overseeing vendor management, contract governance, and commercial risk for health application vendors (EHR, integrated clinical apps, interoperability services, managed service providers). The role ensures compliance, aligns vendor deliverables with clinical workflows, and drives performance improvement and cost optimization across the vendor portfolio.
**Expectations:**
- Deliver robust contract structures and vendor governance frameworks.
- Align vendor activities with clinical and operational objectives.
- Maintain proactive vendor performance monitoring and risk mitigation.
- Provide executive‑ready reporting on vendor health, financials, and value.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Structure, negotiate, and administer MSAs, SOWs, order forms, amendments, and BAAs, ensuring HIPAA/HITECH compliance and data privacy.
- Develop vendor engagement strategy for new initiatives, translate business goals into scopes and acceptance criteria.
- Coordinate RF(x) sourcing, vendor selection, and negotiations with DTS and Strategic Sourcing.
- Support contracting for EHR modules, professional services, and managed support, ensuring commercial clarity.
- Collaborate with clinical, HIM, Privacy, Security, and Legal to align vendor deliverables with workflows, interoperability standards (HL7, FHIR), and security controls.
- Design and implement performance management frameworks (SLAs, KPIs, escalation paths, reporting).
- Conduct recurring operating cadences (weekly checkpoints, monthly reviews, QBRs) to surface and remediate issues.
- Identify and execute cost‑reduction and risk‑mitigation opportunities via rationalization, contract optimization, and rate‑card governance.
- Maintain and improve templates, playbooks, and operating procedures to standardize vendor engagement.
- Produce dashboards and presentations for senior stakeholders on performance, risk, financial stewardship, and renewal status.
**Required Skills:**
- Vendor management and contract negotiation (MSAs, SOWs, BAAs).
- Healthcare IT knowledge (EHR, interoperability, HL7, FHIR).
- Knowledge of HIPAA/HITECH, data privacy, and security compliance.
- Project management and stakeholder engagement.
- Analytical skills for performance metrics and cost optimization.
- Excellent communication and executive‑level reporting.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Health Informatics, Information Technology, or related field.
- Preferred certifications: Certified Professional in Healthcare Information and Management Systems (CPHIMS), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), or equivalent vendor‑management certification.
