Job Description
**Job Title** Legal Intern – Personal Data & Contracts (Apprenticeship) **Role Summary** Support the Compliance Department in implementing and maintaining GDPR-compliant data protection and contract management processes within a life‑science organization. Work closely with the Data Protection Officer and senior compliance staff to audit, document, and update legal frameworks related to personal data and vendor contracts. **Expectations** - Demonstrate strong analytical and draft‑ing skills for GDPR‑related tasks and contract documents. - Collaborate effectively across internal and external stakeholders, including international teams. - Proactively manage assigned tasks, meeting deadlines and maintaining accurate records. - Commute to headquarters or perform remote work as required. **Key Responsibilities** - Conduct internal audits and update Sobi’s Personal Data Processing Register with the Data Protection Officer. - Prepare and revise Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs). - Draft and update privacy notices, consent forms, and legal disclosures for websites and mobile apps. - Update data‑processing clauses in third‑party agreements and oversee their legal compliance. - Manage data subject requests (access, rectification, erasure) and maintain response logs. - Assist the Data Protection Officer in communications with regulatory authorities (e.g., CNIL). - Maintain and update internal procedures for personal data handling and contract management. - Support vendor onboarding through due‑diligence checks, contract preparation, and amendment drafting. - Track contract lifecycle using the group’s contract‑management tool, including renewal and termination. - Contribute to the creation and delivery of internal training materials on data protection and contract governance. - Conduct legal research and draft concise legal notes on emerging regulatory developments. - Monitor compliance activities and produce compliance monitoring reports. - Adjust responsibilities as service needs evolve. **Required Skills** - Strong legal research and drafting ability, particularly in GDPR and contract law. - Knowledge of data protection principles and data‑subject rights. - Familiarity with the pharmaceutical or biotech regulatory environment is an advantage. - Excellent written and verbal communication in English; French language skills are a plus. - Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). - Detail‑oriented, organized, and able to meet deadlines. - Collaborative mindset, comfortable working with cross‑functional teams. **Required Education & Certifications** - Current enrolment in a Master‑level (or equivalent) program in Data Protection Law, Health Law, ICT Law, or a related field. - Law degree (or equivalent) required; ongoing law studies acceptable. - No mandatory professional certification required, but familiarity with GDPR or ISO data‑privacy standards is preferred.
