Job Description
Job Title: Data Scientist Role Summary: Apply advanced statistical and machine learning techniques to build, validate, and deploy predictive models that drive business decisions. Translate complex data into actionable insights and communicate findings to technical and non‑technical stakeholders. Expectations: - Deliver high‑quality predictive models on schedule. - Translate analytical results into clear, business‑relevant recommendations. - Collaborate across functions to identify data‑driven improvement opportunities. - Maintain rigorous documentation and reproducible workflows. Key Responsibilities: - Design, develop, and deploy predictive models (GLMs, regression, classification, time‑series ARIMA/Prophet, survival analysis). - Engineer features, select variables, and apply dimensionality reduction (PCA) for optimal model performance. - Evaluate models using ROC/AUC, precision/recall, calibration curves, and business metrics. - Conduct A/B testing, factorial experiments, and DOE (ANOVA) to validate hypotheses and optimize processes. - Apply causal inference methods (propensity scores, DAGs) to uncover relationships and support decision‑making. - Build interpretable models with SHAP, LIME and document explanations for stakeholders. - Develop dashboards and reports in Looker/LookML to present insights. - Communicate insights through storytelling for diverse audiences. Required Skills: - Proficiency in Python (NumPy, pandas, scikit‑learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch). - SQL expertise (BigQuery dialect). - Experience with version control (Git), containerization (Docker), and notebooks (Jupyter). - Strong statistical knowledge (regression, classification, time‑series, survival analysis). - Experimental design skills (A/B testing, DOE, ANOVA). - Knowledge of causal inference techniques. - Ability to build interpretable models (SHAP, LIME). - Familiarity with BI tools (Looker, LookML). - Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, or related quantitative field (Master’s preferred). ---
