Sr. DevOps Engineer
Role Summary
Lead the design, development, and maintenance of infrastructure-as-code (IaC) and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines across hybrid cloud and on‑prem environments. Provide technical leadership for container orchestration, cloud automation, and system monitoring while ensuring high reliability, security, and performance.
Expectations
- Own end‑to‑end infrastructure projects, from requirements gathering to production rollout.
- Mentor cross‑functional teams and enforce best practices for IaC, CI/CD, and containerized deployments.
- Diagnose complex infrastructure issues, implement performance tuning, and drive continuous improvement.
- Champion risk management, data privacy, and compliance across all systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, document, test, and debug IaC using Terraform, Ansible, and CloudFormation.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for application and infrastructure changes.
- Manage container orchestration platforms (Kubernetes, EKS, TKGi, ECS) in hybrid cloud environments.
- Create and enforce configuration management patterns and technical documentation.
- Evaluate and implement new technologies to enhance automation, security, and scalability.
- Troubleshoot hardware, OS, network, and application problems; act as escalation point.
- Monitor environment health, proactively resolve incidents, and improve performance.
- Participate in change management, risk assessments, and security reviews.
- Coach team members on tools, processes, and best practices.
Required Skills
- *IaC & Automation:* Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation, scripting (Bash, Python).
- *Cloud:* AWS (EC2, IAM, ELB, Route53, S3, Lambda, CloudFormation, DynamoDB, EKS).
- *Container Orchestration:* Kubernetes, TKGi, EKS, ECS, Docker, Helm.
- *CI/CD:* Git, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Spinnaker, Harness (preferred but not required).
- *Networking & Security:* DNS, TCP/UDP, TLS/SSL, load balancing, security groups, IAM policies.
- *Operating Systems:* Linux (CentOS, Ubuntu), Windows Server.
- *Monitoring & Observability:* Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Datadog, CloudWatch.
- *Debugging & Performance Tuning:* Linux system metrics, kernel tuning, storage, CPU, memory, network.
- *Soft Skills:* Strong communication, stakeholder management, mentorship, problem‑solving.
Required Education & Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent technical experience.
- Minimum 7+ years of relevant DevOps, infrastructure, or software engineering experience.
- Certified AWS Solutions Architect, Kubernetes Administrator, or equivalent technical certifications are a plus.
