**Job Title:** Data Science Training & Internship – CP
**Role Summary:**
A remote, 3‑month, unpaid training program designed to develop entry‑level data science skills through structured coursework, hands‑on project work, and 1:1 mentorship from UK industry professionals. Participants will build a portfolio of up to five real‑world projects and earn a Microsoft‑partnered industry certification.
**Expectations:**
- Basic working knowledge of Python.
- Enrolled in or recent graduate of a STEM, computer science, or analytics‑related degree program (final‑year or graduate).
- Commitment to complete all training modules, project deliverables, and mentorship sessions within the 3‑month period.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment and communicate progress effectively.
- Acceptance of the unpaid, learning‑focused nature of the program.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Follow the curriculum covering Python, NumPy, Pandas, data visualization (Matplotlib/Seaborn), machine learning (TensorFlow, Scikit‑learn, SciPy), Spark, and application deployment (Flask, Streamlit).
- Design, develop, and document up to five end‑to‑end data science projects (e.g., fraud detection, forex analysis, sales forecasting).
- Collaborate with assigned UK mentor to refine approaches, receive feedback, and align work with industry standards.
- Maintain a professional portfolio showcasing project code, analyses, visualizations, and deployed applications.
- Prepare and submit final deliverables to obtain the industry‑recognised certificate.
**Required Skills:**
- Proficient in Python programming (core syntax, functions, libraries).
- Fundamental understanding of data manipulation with NumPy and Pandas.
- Basic data visualization skills.
- Familiarity with machine‑learning concepts and libraries (TensorFlow, Scikit‑learn).
- Strong analytical thinking and problem‑solving ability.
- Good written and verbal communication for remote collaboration.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a bachelor’s or master’s degree in a STEM field (e.g., Computer Science, Data Analytics, Mathematics, Engineering).
- No prior certifications required; successful completion awards a Microsoft‑partnered industry certificate.
