**Job Title:** Quality Control Technician **Role Summary:** Oversee and maintain finished lumber quality in a manufacturing environment, ensuring compliance with safety standards, optimizing production processes, and resolving quality issues. **Expectations:** High School Diploma or equivalent. Minimum 3 years in a lumber manufacturing facility. Safety-conscious, self-reliant, and capable of independent decision-making. **Key Responsibilities:** - Monitor and maintain quality standards from raw material intake to final product, using measuring tools (tape measure, calipers) and statistical analysis. - Conduct routine equipment maintenance, calibration, and minor repairs for machinery. - Enter and manage data in relevant databases; compile and submit shift reports on quality and operational issues. - Troubleshoot production issues, identify root causes, and collaborate with teams to resolve problems. - Coordinate with external agencies, vendors, and internal departments during inspections, audits, or customer visits. - Participate in peer knowledge-sharing initiatives across facilities. **Required Skills:** - Proficiency in quality control methodologies and grade rules. - Strong computer literacy (Office suite, database management). - Basic mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills (e.g., multimeter use). - Data interpretation and analytical skills for decision-making. - Effective written and verbal communication; ability to work in team or independent settings. - Physical ability to perform industrial tasks (e.g., lifting, climbing, working in extreme conditions). **Required Education & Certifications:** - High School Diploma or equivalent. - 3+ years’ experience in a lumber manufacturing facility. - Successful completion of background check, drug screen, and pre-employment physical.
