**Job Title**
High-Speed Circuit Design Engineer
**Role Summary**
Lead research and development of high‑speed wireline and optical interconnect circuits operating from 32 Gbps to 448 Gbps while managing a small engineering team. Translate system requirements into process‑level solutions, collaborate across device, circuit, and system domains, and drive innovations through tape‑out, patents, and publications.
**Expectations**
- Design and validate high‑speed/high‑frequency analog circuits for wireline interfaces, SerDes, silicon photonics, and data converters.
- Meet PPA (power, performance, area) targets for next‑generation interconnects and support process technology co‑optimization (DTCO/STCO).
- Demonstrate proven leadership in coaching a team, fostering collaboration, and making critical technical decisions.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Conduct R&D to evaluate PPA trade‑offs and deliver tape‑out of cutting‑edge interconnect designs.
- Collaborate with multifunctional teams (device, system, process) to co‑optimize design and fabrication steps.
- Engage university and industry partners on exploratory research, derive technical insights, and translate findings into IP, test chips, and publications.
- Convert innovative work into patents, IP assets, and actionable documentation.
- Mentor and grow team members, fostering a high‑performance engineering culture.
**Required Skills**
- Extensive analog circuit design expertise in wireline interfaces, SerDes, silicon photonics, or high‑speed data converters.
- Strong foundation in communication theory, channel analysis, termination, clock jitter, low‑power design, chiplets, co‑packaged optics, error‑correction coding, and equalization.
- Hands‑on experience with custom analog layout, design‑to‑tape‑out flow, and tape‑out toolsets.
- Proven analytical, problem‑solving, and fast‑learning abilities; adept at evaluating trade‑offs and making critical decisions.
- Leadership and team‑building skills, with a track record of managing or coaching engineering teams.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Master’s or Ph.D. in Electrical or Electronics Engineering.
**Preferred Experience**
- 15+ years of hands‑on experience designing high‑speed/high‑frequency circuits.
