Job Title: Intern/Co‑op – Commercial (Summer 2026)
Role Summary: A temporary, hands‑on position within Marathon Petroleum’s Commercial function. Interns work alongside experienced professionals to support scheduling, marketing, analytics, or coordination functions, contributing to operational excellence, market insights, and data‑driven decision making.
Expectations: To demonstrate analytical rigor, strong communication, and a proactive approach while adhering to safety and regulatory standards. Interns may travel to terminals, dealer locations, or corporate offices as required by their specialty.
Key Responsibilities:
· Collaborate with Commercial teams to develop and optimize product delivery schedules, inventory management, or market research reports.
· Gather, clean, and analyze data; build dashboards and produce actionable insights.
· Assist in creating marketing analysis, customer segmentation, or campaign strategy support.
· Coordinate cross‑functional communication between terminals, sales, exchanges, and product quality regarding operational or inventory issues.
Requirements:
• Strong Excel, PowerPoint, and data‑visualization skills (Tableau/PowerBI preferred).
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Detail‑oriented, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities.
• Basic understanding of supply‑chain, logistics, and market analysis concepts.
Required Education & Certifications:
• Current enrollment in a bachelor’s program (or recently graduated) – majors preferred: Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, Operations, or Data Science. No industry certification required.

Job Title: Intern/Co‑op – Commercial Scheduling (Summer 2026)
Role Summary: Support the Commercial schedule team by planning and optimizing the movement of light products, feedstocks, and biofuels via pipeline, barge, or tanker to meet forecasted demand while minimizing cost and maintaining product quality.
Expectations: Maintain accurate delivery windows, monitor inventory levels, and propose process improvements to reduce excess working capital.
Key Responsibilities:
· Schedule pipeline, barge, and tanker shipments based on sales forecasts and terminal inventories.
· Coordinate timing, batch size, and sequence to maximize resource utilization.
· Monitor daily terminal and refinery inventories; adjust schedules to avoid shortages or excesses.
· Collaborate with terminals, Commercial, Exchange, and Product Quality to resolve scheduling issues.
Required Skills:
