Job title: Commercial Manager, SaaS Solutions (M/F)
Role Summary: Lead the stewardship and expansion of a portfolio of public sector clients for a digital citizen engagement platform. Build sustainable relationships, drive renewals, upsells, and cross‑sell opportunities, and identify new prospects within local authority entities.
Expactations:
- Proven track record in selling SaaS or technology solutions to the public sector, preferably local governments.
- Demonstrated expertise in account management—retention, renewal, and deepening of existing client relationships.
- Strong negotiation skills and ability to close complex multi‑cycle deals.
- Passion for environmental and digital innovation in public services.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and organizational abilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and grow relationships with existing clients, ensuring renewal, scope expansion, and adoption of new features.
- Identify cross‑sell potential across the company’s product suite and present compelling proposals to decision‑makers.
- Qualify public sector needs, adapt messaging to technical, political, and communication stakeholders, and construct persuasive value propositions.
- Manage the end‑to‑end sales pipeline: prospecting, qualification, proposal development, objection handling, and closing.
- Monitor prospects through tenders and calls for proposals, maintaining multiple concurrent sales cycles.
- Negotiate commercial terms with rigor and professionalism.
- Collaborate with project, client‑support, and marketing teams to ensure smooth hand‑offs and alignment on deliverables.
- Proactively prospect local authorities (collection syndicates, inter‑municipal communities, metropolitan councils), identify key decision makers, and secure qualified appointments.
- Present the platform’s value proposition, track opportunities, and coordinate sign‑off with senior sales leadership.
Required Skills:
- SaaS or technology sales experience in the public sector.
- Account management: client retention, renewal, upsell, and long‑term engagement.
- Strong consultative selling and needs‑analysis skills.
- Negotiation, closing, and stakeholder management across technical, political, and communication tracks.
- Ability to manage multiple sales pipelines simultaneously.
- Excellent interpersonal, teamwork, and autonomy, with a sense of organization and urgency.
Required Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
- Preferred certifications in SaaS sales, account management, or public sector procurement.
