Job Description
**Job Title:** Red Team Operator – Advanced **Role Summary:** Execute offensive cyber operations, including penetration testing and red‑team engagements, to assess and harden military and defense systems. Collaborate with OPTEVFOR teams, develop test plans, validate tools, and document findings while maintaining compliance with DoDI 8585.01 and DCAT requirements. **Expectations:** - Maintain an active DoD TS clearance (SCI attainable). - Acquire OSCP or equivalent within 6 months if not already held. - Demonstrate proficiency with core offensive tools (Metasploit, Core Impact, Cobalt Strike, Burp Suite, Nessus, SharpHound/BloodHound). - Operate independently, coordinating with teammates during test events. - Participate in occasional overnight stays; travel to short‑distance on‑site locations as required. **Key Responsibilities:** - Review OPTEVFOR cyber T&E SOPs, policies, and guidance. - Develop and maintain 01D SOPs and DCAT documentation per DoDI 8585.01. - Research and recommend offensive tools via the 01D tool approval process. - Contribute to TTP development for penetration testing and red‑team missions. - Conduct adversary research; analyze TTPs; integrate findings into test planning. - Participate in test planning: review SUT documentation, perform threat research, define objectives, and review plans. - Prepare for tests: attend coordination visits, support in‑briefs, organize research findings, validate tools. - Execute test events (Cooperative Vulnerability Penetration Assessments, Adversarial Assessments) using approved tools. - Follow JFHQ‑DODIN deconfliction protocols; ensure safe, policy‑aligned operations. - Contribute to post‑test analysis: risk documentation, final reports, lessons learned, tool library updates. - Represent OPTEVFOR in capture‑the‑flag events, huddles, and technical exchanges. - Update documentation to maintain DCAT compliance. **Required Skills:** - 1‑3 years of penetration testing, red‑team, or exploitation development experience. - Proficiency with Metasploit, Core Impact, Cobalt Strike, Burp Suite, Nessus, SharpHound/BloodHound. - Ability to assess exploit code and conduct dynamic analysis of malicious activity. - Strong independent work ethic; effective team coordination. - Knowledge of DoDI 8585.01, DCAT, and OPTEVFOR policies. - Familiarity with JFHQ‑DODIN deconfliction and safety protocols. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Minimum high school diploma or equivalent; higher education preferred. - Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP) or equivalent; must obtain within 6 months if not possessed. - Active DoD TS clearance (SCI clearance attainable).
