Job Description

**Job Title:** Senior Software Engineer **Role Summary:** Senior full‑stack engineer responsible for designing, building, and scaling the AI‑powered platform. Works hands‑on across backend (Python/FastAPI), frontend (React/Next.js), AI integration, and data engineering. Shapes technical vision, ensures code quality, and mentors junior team members while collaborating with product and leadership. **Expectations:** - 5+ years professional full‑stack development experience. - Based in the UK (remote with occasional travel to Leeds/London). - Entrepreneurial mindset with ownership and strong communication skills. - Ability to deliver end‑to‑end solutions from prototype to production. **Key Responsibilities:** - Design, develop, and maintain API services using Python (FastAPI). - Build responsive, accessible UI components with React/Next.js. - Integrate LLMs and ML services (OpenAI, AWS Bedrock) and manage prompt design, embeddings, and vector databases. - Create and optimize data pipelines, ingestion processes, and database schemas (Postgres, DynamoDB/NoSQL). - Contribute to system architecture, ensuring modularity and scalability. - Enforce best practices: testing, code reviews, CI/CD, documentation, and secure coding. - Collaborate with product managers, engineering peers, and executive leadership; mentor junior developers. - Research and adopt new tools/frameworks for full‑stack and AI development. **Required Skills:** - Python (FastAPI) and JavaScript/TypeScript (React, Next.js). - SQL (PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (DynamoDB or similar). - Experience with AI/ML model APIs, embeddings, vector search. - Data engineering (ETL, schema design, performance tuning). - Cloud platforms, preferably AWS; containerization with Docker/ECS. - Secure coding practices and handling of sensitive data. - Strong problem‑solving, leadership, and communication abilities. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience). - Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect) are a plus but not mandatory.
