Job Description

**Job Title:** Junior Data Engineer **Role Summary:** Support the organization’s data infrastructure by collecting, cleaning, integrating, and managing data from diverse sources. Build and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines, ensure data quality and consistency, and provide reliable data for analytics and reporting. **Expectations:** - Deliver accurate, high‑quality data ready for analysis. - Collaborate closely with senior engineers and business stakeholders to meet data needs. - Document processes and contribute to knowledge sharing. - Maintain and improve database performance and scalability. **Key Responsibilities:** - Gather, clean, and integrate data from multiple sources to maintain data quality. - Collaborate with data providers to understand structures and requirements. - Maintain and optimize relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL). - Implement indexing, partitioning, and other performance enhancements. - Apply data governance, security, and quality controls. - Perform basic data analysis and generate reports to support business decisions. - Develop, schedule, and monitor ETL/ELT pipelines (e.g., Azure Data Factory, Apache Airflow, PySpark). - Troubleshoot and resolve ETL/ELT job issues. - Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback. - Document data processes, workflows, and best practices. - Stay current with the organization’s BI platform architecture. **Required Skills:** - Proficiency in SQL and experience with relational databases. - Programming skills in Python, Java, or C#. - Understanding of data warehousing concepts. - Familiarity with cloud data platforms (Snowflake, Azure). - Experience with ETL/ELT tools (FiveTran, Azure Data Factory, Apache Airflow, PySpark). - Knowledge of data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI). - Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and attention‑to‑detail skills. - Effective communication and teamwork abilities. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field. - No mandatory certifications required; relevant cloud or data platform certifications are a plus.
