**Job Title:** Senior Front‑End Developer (Intellectual Property Office)
**Role Summary:**
Architect, develop, and maintain enterprise‑grade web applications in a cloud‑first environment. Lead front‑end initiatives, collaborate cross‑functionally, and influence technical strategy. Deliver high‑quality, secure, and scalable solutions that align with government standards and organizational goals.
**Expectations:**
- Proactively own design, implementation, testing, and documentation of features ranging from small widgets to mission‑critical services.
- Drive continuous improvement, knowledge sharing, and mentorship for junior developers while ensuring adherence to governance and security policies.
- Deliver on time and within budget while prioritizing user experience and technical excellence.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Design, code, test, and document front‑end components using React, Next.js, and related web technologies.
- Consume RESTful APIs and integrate with Azure‑hosted services.
- Collaborate with test engineers to define acceptance criteria and coverage; ensure automated testing and quality assurance.
- Investigate, diagnose, and resolve application issues; identify improvement opportunities and present recommendations to stakeholders.
- Apply ISO 27001 and the Security Policy Framework, implementing and maintaining technical security controls.
- Participate in agile ceremonies (Scrum, Scrum‑of‑Scrums) and contribute to sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
- Mentor and coach junior team members, fostering a culture of learning and continuous improvement.
- Support project delivery, task delegation, and resource planning as needed.
**Required Skills:**
- Advanced proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, React, Next.js, and modern CSS frameworks.
- Experience building cloud‑native web applications on Azure (App Service, Functions, Cosmos DB, etc.).
- Knowledge of Azure DevOps, Git, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices.
- Familiarity with RESTful API design, authentication/authorization, and performance optimisation.
- Strong understanding of web security principles (XSS, CSRF, OWASP) and ISO 27001 requirements.
- Agile development experience (Scrum, Kanban) and ability to work in multi‑disciplinary teams.
- Excellent problem‑solving, communication, and leadership skills.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Azure Certified Developer, Microsoft Certified: Azure Developer Associate, or equivalent) are advantageous but not mandatory.
