Job Description
Job title: Contractor, Research Associate II – CryoEM Role Summary Conduct protein purification, complexation, vitrification, and clipping to prepare high‑quality samples for cryo-electron microscopy. Load and operate cryoEM microscopes, run automated data‑collection workflows, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to support high‑throughput protein structure determination. Maintain and optimize standard operating procedures, document experimental data, and report findings in internal databases. Expectations - Deliver accurate, reproducible sample preparations and data‑collection results. - Meet project timelines and quality standards for structural biology studies. - Communicate progress and troubleshoot technical issues to multidisciplinary teams. Key Responsibilities - Purify proteins and assemble complexes for cryoEM. - Prepare vitrified grids and clip samples for imaging. - Operate cryoEM microscopes, execute automated data‑collection protocols, and monitor instrument performance. - Collaborate with biochemists, computational scientists, and other stakeholders to plan experiments. - Follow and refine SOPs for sample prep and data acquisition. - Log experimental parameters and results in internal databases; generate concise reports.
