As well as two sixth forms and two centres for special educational needs and disability, we also have a land based college specialising in animal, veterinary, agriculture. horticulture and rural skills. **Job Title** Learning Mentor **Role Summary** Provide individualized learning support for students with SEND, learning difficulties, or behavioral needs on mainstream and specialist courses. Collaborate with curriculum teams and student support services to develop, implement, and monitor tailored strategies that enable students to integrate and succeed within the college environment. **Expectations** - Deliver high‑quality, student‑centred support that aligns with the SEND Code of Practice and the Equality Act. - Work closely with teaching staff and senior departmental personnel to design and review support plans. - Identify early barriers to learning and communicate findings to relevant parties. - Maintain accurate records of assessments, interventions, and outcomes. **Key Responsibilities** - Assess students’ learning needs and devise personalised support strategies. - Monitor and review the effectiveness of support interventions, adjusting plans as required. - Liaise with curriculum teams, student support services, and senior staff to ensure cohesive delivery of support. - Identify potential issues early and communicate with teaching and departmental management. - Maintain documentation for Education Health Care Plans, support plans, and compliance records. **Required Skills** - Proven experience supporting individuals with SEND or additional learning needs. - Knowledge of Education Health Care Plans, assessment and support frameworks. - Familiarity with the SEND Code of Practice and the Equality Act. - Strong written and verbal communication skills. - Ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams. **Required Education & Certifications** - NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in Care, Learning Support, or Youth work. - GCSEs in Maths and English (minimum).
