Job Description
Job title: Senior Account Manager – Commercial Lines Role Summary: Owns a book of commercial real estate, habitational, and hotel/motel accounts to ensure retention and growth. Manages end‑to‑end policy lifecycle, renewals, billing, and claims while leading a small team and maintaining high service standards. Expectations: Deliver consistent account growth, rigorous compliance, and proactive customer support. Lead a team of account managers, drive process improvements, and represent company values in all interactions. Key Responsibilities: - Manage assigned commercial lines portfolio, focusing on retention, renewal, and expansion. - Conduct client research, prepare submissions, negotiate coverages, and present proposals to secure renewals and new business. - Oversee policy expirations, renewals, billing, and claims administration. - Monitor accounts receivable reports, pursue delinquent balances, and ensure timely collections. - Maintain agency management and carrier/vendor platforms; ensure data accuracy and completeness. - Lead and mentor the account management team; set daily priorities and review workloads. - Resolve complex client issues, ensuring error free service and adherence to procedures. - Communicate regularly with team on status, opportunities, and challenges. - Incorporate best practices and continuous improvement initiatives. - Uphold company policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards. Required Skills: - 5+ years account management experience (7+ in insurance preferred). - Deep knowledge of commercial insurance brokerage, product lines, and client needs. - Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making capabilities. - Exceptional written and verbal communication; ability to influence and negotiate. - Advanced organizational and multitasking skills in a fast‑paced environment. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel). - Leadership skills to guide and develop a small team. Required Education & Certifications: - High School Diploma or equivalent (minimum). - Active professional insurance license required; CIC or equivalent designation preferred.
