Job Description
Job title: Assistant Buyer Role Summary: Support procurement operations for multiple projects and group companies by placing and expediting orders, managing supplier relationships, maintaining audit trails, ensuring sustainable sourcing, and handling general administrative tasks related to fleet and plant assets. Expectations: Deliver timely, cost‑effective purchases through approved suppliers, maintain accurate records, provide sustainability data for reporting, and support finance and management with up‑to‑date information. Key Responsibilities: • Place and expedite material requisitions in line with requestor timelines. • Source and purchase from approved suppliers, prioritising core categories. • Serve as primary contact for suppliers and resolve invoice/order queries. • Maintain audit trails of requests and orders. • Collect and update sustainability information for core products. • Log fleet and driver changes in central register/portal; provide data to accounting. • Record and report plant asset changes on central asset register. • Monitor daily/weekly check registers and flag issues to Category Manager. Required Skills: • Strong organisational and multitasking ability. • Excellent verbal and written communication. • High attention to detail. • Ability to adapt quickly in a fast‑paced environment. • Proficiency in ERP systems, databases, and Microsoft Office. Required Education & Certifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or related field. • Professional procurement certification (e.g., CIPS, P2P, or equivalent) is a plus.
