Job Description
Job Title: Data Engineer Role Summary: Build and maintain a modern, scalable data platform to support a cloud‑first, API‑first enterprise, developing secure ingestion pipelines, curating data across bronze, silver, and gold layers, and enabling real‑time data integration. Expactations: Deliver reliable, high‑performance data pipelines; modernize legacy integrations; support event‑driven and API‑based data models; ensure data quality, security, and compliance; collaborate in agile teams and maintain CI/CD pipelines. Key Responsibilities: - Design, develop, and maintain large‑scale data ingestion pipelines. - Curate and transform data through bronze, silver, and gold layers for analytics. - Implement real‑time data integration and event‑driven architectures. - Manage and optimize Databricks notebooks, Azure Data Lake storage, and associated big‑data services. - Apply version control (Git) and CI/CD practices to data workflows. - Enforce data governance, security, and compliance standards, especially for financial or regulated data. - Collaborate with data science, analytics, and product teams to meet data needs. - Troubleshoot and resolve data pipeline issues, ensuring minimal downtime. Required Skills: - 5+ years of hands‑on experience building data pipelines and distributed data systems. - Deep knowledge of Databricks, Azure Data Lake, and other Azure big‑data tools. - Experience with event‑driven, API‑based data models and real‑time ingestion. - Proficiency with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and agile development practices. - Strong understanding of data security, governance, and compliance (financial or regulated environments preferred). - Familiarity with mortgage servicing or lending domain is a plus. Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience). - Optional certifications: Azure Data Engineer Associate, Databricks Certified, or similar.
