Job title: Senior Test Engineer
Role Summary:
Design, implement, and govern end‑to‑end testing strategies and automation frameworks to ensure high‑quality, reliable software across API, UI, and backend services.
Expactations:
- Deliver measurable improvements in test coverage, defect detection, and release velocity.
- Foster a culture of quality with a focus on automation and continuous integration.
- Mentor junior team members and influence product quality across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, define, and execute comprehensive testing plans covering functionality, usability, and reliability.
- Design and develop scalable, reusable automated test frameworks integrating with CI/CD pipelines.
- Evaluate and prioritize test automation opportunities, balancing with manual testing for complex scenarios.
- Integrate testing practices into agile ceremonies, sprint planning, and code reviews to embed quality from inception to deployment.
- Collaborate with developers, product owners, and stakeholders to refine requirements and acceptance criteria.
- Communicate test results, risks, and improvement recommendations to cross‑functional teams.
- Mentor and support junior engineers, promoting continuous learning and best practices.
Required Skills:
- Extensive experience in test strategy, test planning, and end‑to‑end test execution.
- Strong automation expertise (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, API testing tools).
- Familiarity with CI/CD, version control, and test‑driven/behavior‑driven development practices.
- Knowledge of cloud services, containerization, and microservices architectures.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and mentoring abilities.
Required Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
- Professional certifications (e.g., ISTQB, CSTE, CAST, or equivalent) are preferred.
