Software Engineering Manager
Role Summary
Lead two software development teams (10+ developers) to deliver high‑performance, regulated software solutions. Manage product life cycle in regulated industries such as medical devices, banking, or insurance, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and audits.
Expectations
Drive technical excellence and team productivity while meeting stringent regulatory requirements. Deliver on project schedules, maintain product quality, and support the transition of products to market.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and motivate two software teams, setting objectives and fostering a high‑performing culture.
- Develop detailed project plans, allocate resources, and track progress against regulatory and business goals.
- Coordinate cross‑functional collaboration with product, QA, compliance, and operations to align on objectives.
- Implement and promote engineering best practices, Agile/Scrum methodologies, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Act as primary liaison for stakeholders, communicating status, risks, and technical strategy.
- Oversee technical decisions for the stack: C#, .NET / .NET Core, Angular, SQL Server, REST APIs, AWS, Azure DevOps, Ruby on Rails, VueJS, Elixir.
Required Skills
- 5+ years of software engineering management in a structured team environment.
- Proven experience managing SaaS products in highly regulated domains (medical devices, finance, insurance).
- Strong grasp of regulatory frameworks (ISO 13485, FDA, GDPR, SOC2) and certification processes.
- Proficiency with Agile/Scrum, including roles, ceremonies, and metrics.
- Technical breadth across back‑end, front‑end, databases, and cloud platforms.
- Excellent communication in English and French (oral and written).
- Leadership and stakeholder management capabilities.
Required Education & Certifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
- Certifications such as Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), Professional Scrum Master (PSM), or Project Management Professional (PMP) preferred.
- Knowledge of ISO 13485, ISO 9001, or similar regulatory standards is a plus.
