Job Description
**Job Title:** Director of People and Culture **Role Summary:** Strategic HR leader responsible for shaping and executing people and culture initiatives that align with business goals in a multi‑site, unionized food processing environment. Drives talent acquisition, labor relations, performance management, employee engagement, DEI, and regulatory compliance while partnering with senior leadership. **Expectations:** - Provide visionary HR leadership across all functions. - Build and maintain collaborative union relationships. - Align HR strategies with operational objectives and growth plans. - Foster a high‑performance, inclusive culture. - Ensure full compliance with employment, health, and safety regulations. **Key Responsibilities:** - Oversee HR operations: talent acquisition, onboarding, performance management, succession planning, and organizational development. - Lead labor relations: negotiate collective agreements, manage contracts, and resolve grievances. - Partner with executives to integrate people strategy with business strategy. - Design and implement employee engagement, retention, and leadership development programs. - Ensure compliance with labor laws, health & safety standards, and corporate policies. - Drive diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives organization‑wide. - Advise on compensation, benefits, and workforce planning. **Required Skills:** - Proven HR leadership in unionized, manufacturing or food‑processing settings (10+ years). - Expertise in collective bargaining and labor relations. - Strong change‑management and strategic influencing abilities. - In‑depth knowledge of employment law, health & safety regulations, and HR best practices. - Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. - Demonstrated ability to develop culture, engagement, and DEI programs. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Relations, or related field (required). - Master’s degree or MBA preferred. - HR professional certification (e.g., SHRM‑SC, SPHR, CIPD) preferred.
