Job Description
**Job Title:** IT Support Engineer **Role Summary:** Provide on‑site technical support for a manufacturing environment, ensuring reliable operation of hardware, software, and network infrastructure. Diagnose and resolve user issues, maintain system performance, and support production systems to minimize downtime. **Expectations:** - Deliver prompt, effective first‑ and second‑level support to end users and production staff. - Maintain high availability of critical manufacturing applications and equipment. - Follow documented procedures and adhere to IT security and compliance standards. **Key Responsibilities:** - Respond to and resolve hardware, software, and network incidents within defined service level agreements. - Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, printers, and peripheral devices. - Support and troubleshoot manufacturing execution systems (MES), PLC interfaces, and related industrial software. - Perform routine system updates, patches, and backups. - Monitor network performance and coordinate with vendors for escalated issues. - Create and maintain technical documentation, knowledge base articles, and inventory records. - Assist in the rollout of new technologies and system upgrades across the plant. - Provide user training and guidance on standard IT tools and security practices. **Required Skills:** - Strong knowledge of Windows (10/11) and Microsoft Office environments. - Experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, and user account management. - Proficiency in networking basics (TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, VPN). - Familiarity with manufacturing/industrial control systems support is preferred. - Excellent problem‑solving and troubleshooting abilities. - Effective communication skills for interacting with non‑technical staff. - Ability to work independently on-site and manage multiple tickets concurrently. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Minimum: Associate degree or equivalent in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field. - Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline. - Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator) are advantageous.
