Job Description: **Job Title** Senior Backend JavaScript Developer (Node.js) **Role Summary** Lead the design, development, and maintenance of high‑performance backend microservices for a cloud‑first lending platform. Work closely with product, engineering, and leadership to deliver feature‑rich, scalable REST APIs that support AI‑driven workflow management and financial modeling. **Expectations** - 3+ years of professional experience in a product‑driven environment. - Strong ownership of code quality, automated testing, and continuous delivery. - Proficiency in JavaScript (Node.js), PostgreSQL, and ORM (Sequelize). - Ability to work independently and collaborate cross‑functionally to solve complex problems. - Commitment to user experience and clean architectural design. **Key Responsibilities** - Architect and implement efficient Node.js microservices for data‑intensive web applications. - Collaborate with CTO, VP Engineering, Product, and peers to define and ship end‑to‑end features. - Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve performance and scalability issues. - Write and maintain automated tests (Mocha) and enforce test‑driven development practices. - Perform thorough code reviews, mentor junior engineers, and maintain coding standards. - Adapt to evolving product needs and handle additional responsibilities as required. **Required Skills** - 3+ years in backend development (Node.js, microservices). - Strong grasp of data structures, algorithms, and system design. - Proficiency in JavaScript, PostgreSQL, Sequelize ORM. - Experience with automated testing frameworks (Mocha, Jest, etc.). - Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated deployments. - Excellent written and verbal communication. - Ability to learn new frameworks, APIs, and cloud services quickly. - Understanding of RESTful API architecture. **Required Education & Certifications** - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent professional experience. - Optional: Cloud platform certifications (AWS, Azure, GCP) and experience with serverless technologies (Serverless framework, AWS Lambda) preferred.
