**Job Title**
Cloud Engineer – Data (Snowflake/Azure)
**Role Summary**
Design, build, and maintain scalable, cloud‑native data pipelines and platforms primarily on Snowflake, leveraging Microsoft Azure services. Partner with data analysts, architects, scientists, and business stakeholders to deliver high‑performance, secure, and cost‑effective data solutions that support analytics, BI, and data science initiatives.
**Expectations**
- 6–10 years of relevant technical experience, preferably in healthcare data and analytics.
- Ability to work independently on assigned tasks and through the full change‑management lifecycle.
- Strong collaboration in cross‑functional Agile/Scrum teams and effective communication with non‑technical stakeholders.
- Commitment to best practices in code quality, security, governance, and continuous improvement.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Design and implement Snowflake‑based data architectures, including schema, partitioning, clustering, and query optimization.
- Develop complex ETL/ELT pipelines using Snowflake Streams, Tasks, SnowPipe and Azure Data Factory, integrating with ADLS, Azure Synapse, Azure Databricks, and Azure SQL.
- Optimize performance and cost of Snowflake environments; monitor and troubleshoot data workflows.
- Conduct code reviews, enforce best practices, and manage CI/CD pipelines for data solutions.
- Participate in architectural discussions, provide recommendations, and ensure alignment with enterprise data strategy.
- Implement data security, privacy, and compliance controls in the cloud.
- Automate monitoring, logging, and alerting for data pipelines; ensure operational reliability.
- Engage in Scrum ceremonies (planning, grooming, review) and follow change‑management processes.
**Required Skills**
- Deep expertise in Snowflake (architecture, Snowpipe, Tasks, Streams) and Azure data services (ADF, ADLS, Synapse, Databricks, Azure SQL).
- Advanced SQL proficiency; experience with complex queries, stored procedures, and large datasets.
- Strong data‑modeling and data‑warehouse concepts (both relational and NoSQL).
- Hands‑on experience with ETL/ELT frameworks, preferably Azure Data Factory or Synapse.
- DevOps/CI‑CD experience for data pipelines (repos, automated testing, deployment).
- Knowledge of data security, governance, and compliance best practices.
- Agile/Scrum methodology understanding and practical application.
- Excellent problem‑solving, root‑cause analysis, and communication skills.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
- Relevant certifications are a plus (e.g., SnowPro Core, Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate).
