Data & AI Governance Specialist
**Role Summary**
Lead the development and implementation of enterprise‑wide data and AI governance frameworks, ensuring ethical, secure, and compliant management of data assets and AI systems across the organization. Serve as a bridge between technical, policy, and business stakeholders to embed governance checkpoints, assess risks, and promote data literacy.
**Expectations**
- Deliver and maintain mature data and AI governance maturity roadmaps.
- Provide regular executive updates on governance progress, risk status, and compliance alignment.
- Maintain data catalogues, glossaries, and policy enforcement tools.
- Champion data and AI literacy through targeted training and awareness initiatives.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Design and evolve data governance framework, defining roles, responsibilities, and ownership.
- Lead enterprise‑wide data quality, policy enforcement, and regulatory compliance initiatives.
- Deploy AI governance frameworks, providing guidance on ethical AI deployment.
- Collaborate with AI Steering Committee, Working Groups, and Center of Excellence to embed governance checkpoints and conduct risk assessments for AI use cases.
- Coordinate data stewardship and business glossary maintenance.
- Deliver governance maturity assessments and strategic roadmap progress to executive leadership.
- Champion data and AI literacy through training programs and awareness initiatives.
**Required Skills**
- Deep knowledge of data governance frameworks (e.g., DAMA‑DMBOK, DCAM).
- Expertise in AI governance principles, risk management methodologies, and ethical considerations.
- Proficiency in regulatory frameworks such as GDPR, CCPA, EU AI Act, and emerging AI legislation.
- Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder‑management skills.
- Experience leading cross‑functional governance initiatives and projects.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Information Management, Computer Science, Law, or related field.
- Minimum 12 years of experience in data governance, data privacy, compliance, or AI risk management.
- Professional certifications (preferred): CDMP, CIPT, IEEE AI governance, IAPP, or ISO relevant credentials.
