**Job Title**
Data Protection and Identity Card Support
**Role Summary**
Programme‑ and project‑managed delivery of data protection and identity management (DPIM) for NATO users. Leads strategy, governance, and operational support for a large‑scale enterprise‑wide identity card system, ensuring compliance with GDPR and military security standards. Provides business‑support functions for AMIS identity cards and overall Identity Management solutions.
**Expectations**
- Minimum 10 years experience in a national military, NATO HQ, or comparable governmental security/force‑protection environment within the last 15 years.
- At least 1 year in a management or supervisory role.
- Proven experience managing a 5,000+ person enterprise identity card system (≥5 years in last 10 years).
- At least 3 years of experience creating data and information security strategy documents across multidisciplinary teams.
- Minimum 1 year recent experience defining/A applying data protection strategies for Personal Identification Information (PII).
- Strong background in EU GDPR requirements (≥1 year).
- Demonstrated program and project management of medium‑to‑major projects; ability to coordinate interdependent initiatives within a broader change program.
- Ability to maintain a strategic vision, translate business requirements into operational plans, and monitor programme scope, cost, schedule, resources, and risk.
- NATO Secret clearance or equivalent.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Lead programme governance for DPIM activities, ensuring alignment with NATO security directives.
- Develop, maintain, and communicate the strategic vision and roadmap for identity card management and data protection initiatives.
- Translate business requirements into actionable plans, defining scope, resources, schedules, and budgets.
- Manage interdependencies among related projects, mitigating risks and coordinating deliverables within the programme.
- Provide oversight of data protection strategy documents and ensure compliance with GDPR and NATO data handling policies.
- Support AMIS identity card hardware, peripherals, and stock management; oversee procurement and lifecycle processes.
- Deliver operational support for Identity Management solutions, troubleshooting issues and driving continuous improvement.
- Coordinate stakeholder communication, reporting progress, risks, and benefits to senior leadership.
**Required Skills**
- Strategic programme and project management (including PMP or PRINCE2 certification preferred).
- Deep knowledge of DPIM principles, identity card lifecycle, and related security controls.
- Expertise in EU GDPR, PII handling, and military data protection standards.
- Strong analytical, research, facilitation, and communication skills.
- Ability to build cross‑functional teams and influence stakeholders across military and civilian domains.
- Proficiency in programme tracking tools, risk registers, and cost‑benefit analysis.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Security, Computer Science, Public Administration, or a related field.
- Relevant certifications in data protection (e.g., CIPP/E), project management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) or security management (e.g., CISSP) strongly preferred.
- NATO Secret clearance or equivalent security clearance.
