Job Description
Job title: Software Engineer Role Summary: Python-focused full‑stack developer responsible for designing, building and operating cloud‑native applications. Works on both front‑end and back‑end components, designs REST APIs, containers deployments, and ensures performance, security and cost‑efficiency. Expactations: Hybrid work (minimum 3 days onsite per week), 40‑hour work week, requires at least 1 year of commercial software engineering experience, and a valid Security Clearance (SC). Key Responsibilities: - Develop and maintain full‑stack solutions using Python and related libraries. - Design, implement, and document RESTful APIs. - Build, containerise (Docker) and deploy applications on AWS (ECS, EKS, Lambda, EC2, RDS). - Create and manage CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, CircleCI, Jenkins). - Write unit, integration, contract and end‑to‑end tests; participate in code and design reviews. - Operate, troubleshoot, optimise services in production; lead post‑incident reviews. - Collaborate with Test and DevOps teams to deliver high‑quality features end‑to‑end. Required Skills: - Strong Python programming and software design fundamentals. - REST API architecture and implementation experience. - Experience with Docker, containerised workflows and orchestration. - Practical knowledge of AWS services (ECS, EKS, Lambda, EC2, RDS). - CI/CD pipeline development and tooling. - Test‑driven development mindset (unit, integration, contract testing). - Ability to troubleshoot production incidents and conduct remediation.
