**Job title**: Senior Software Engineer – Fleet
**Role Summary**:
Lead the design, development, and scaling of cloud services that enable remote management, over‑the‑air updates, observability, and high‑availability operations for a fleet of AI‑powered edge devices on AWS.
**Expectations**:
- Own end‑to‑end cloud service architecture and delivery pipeline.
- Ensure reliability, security, and performance of multi‑region AWS infrastructure.
- Mentor junior engineers and set engineering/DevOps standards.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Prevent, respond to, and remediate incidents; apply best practices in incident management.
- Design, build, and maintain scalable services for device observability, OTA updates, and fleet operations.
- Improve reliability, security, and performance of multi‑region AWS infrastructure using IaC tools.
- Own and evolve CI/CD pipelines for cloud services, ensuring automation and security.
- Enforce high software engineering and DevOps standards across the team.
- Collaborate with hardware, product, and other engineering teams to define requirements and deliver robust end‑to‑end solutions.
- Drive architectural decisions, conduct code reviews, and contribute to long‑term technical strategy.
- Mentor junior engineers and share expertise in cloud technologies, software and architectural design patterns.
**Required Skills**:
- Deep experience with Amazon AWS services (EKS, S3, SQS, RDS, Cognito, Lambda).
- Proficiency in Python or Go (Golang) for production‑grade services.
- Strong database skills: relational, document, or time‑series; performance‑tuned SQL.
- Solid knowledge of Kubernetes and container orchestration in production.
- Design and operate scalable, secure APIs and microservices.
- Expertise in IaC (Terraform, CloudFormation) and CI/CD (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Argo CD).
- Proven ability in incident response, monitoring, SRE practices, and post‑mortems.
- Agile mindset with modern DevOps and SRE practices.
- Excellent communication and cross‑functional collaboration.
**Required Education & Certifications**:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- 5+ years of industry experience in cloud engineering or related role.
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer, or similar certifications are a plus.
