Job Description
**Job title:** Financial Analyst **Role Summary:** Provide analytical support within payments consulting engagements, focusing on card scheme (Visa, Mastercard) data. Build and maintain financial models, conduct market research, and prepare client-facing presentations. Deliver insights to support pricing, profitability, and cost audit initiatives. **Expectations:** - Hold an accounting or finance qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent). - Minimum 5 years of business experience, with at least 3 years handling card scheme data at a scheme, bank, or acquirer. - Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint, with strong analytical, charting, and data‑visualisation skills. - Exceptional attention to detail, organisational and planning abilities. - Fluent written and spoken English; clear communication of technical findings. **Key Responsibilities:** - Maintain a key financial resource used across multiple projects. - Build, update, and validate complex financial models and dashboards. - Research and collate market data, card economics, and scheme fee structures. - Design and deliver professional client presentations. - Coordinate project tasks and support delivery of client assignments. - Conduct consumer and merchant market research as required. **Required Skills:** - Accounting or finance qualification, or significant experience in cost audits, business case development, pricing, and profitability analysis. - In‑depth knowledge of card payments economics and scheme fee models. - Advanced Excel (pivot tables, advanced formulas, VBA optional) and PowerPoint skills. - Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and planning capabilities. - Excellent written and oral communication; ability to present complex analysis clearly. - Proactive, self‑directed, and able to manage a variety of tasks simultaneously. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Chartered accountant or equivalent finance certification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, etc.) OR demonstrable experience in relevant finance activities.
