Job Description

**Job Title**: Co‑op Student – Construction (Municipal Infrastructure) **Role Summary** Assist civil engineering teams in preparing preliminary estimates, performing design calculations, drafting proposals, and supporting municipal infrastructure projects. Provide technical assistance to project managers and engage with clients to clarify requirements and communicate technical concepts. **Expectations** - Enrollment in a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field. - Availability for a 4‑, 8‑, or 12‑month term beginning January 2026. - Proactive, detail‑oriented, and collaborative; strong verbal and written communication. **Key Responsibilities** - Produce preliminary estimates and quantity statements. - Perform design calculations and prepare detailed plans compliant with guidelines, codes, and regulations. - Draft, proofread, and submit proposal documents (RFPs, estimates, technical docs). - Maintain client relationships; explain technical information and study results. - Assist project managers with project support tasks and general documentation. - Utilize AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Heavy Bid for design and estimation activities. **Required Skills** - Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Heavy Bid (preferred). - Advanced MS Excel and MS Word skills. - Strong written and verbal communication. - Initiative, attention to detail, and teamwork ability. **Required Education & Certifications** - Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (minimum progress required). - No additional certifications required; municipal infrastructure design experience and consulting background considered an asset.
