Job Description
**Job title:** Data Scientist (MFL Robotics) **Role Summary:** Develop, maintain, and improve analytical models for anomaly detection, sizing, and classification in medium‑fidelity‑laser (MFL) pipeline inspection. Deliver technical reports, Unity plots (API 1163), and data‑driven insights to R&D, engineering, sales, and clients. Drive continuous improvement of inspection tools and data interpretation while influencing product design. **Expectations:** * 5+ years of MFL data science experience in the pipeline inspection sector, with strong knowledge of API 1163 and related industry standards. * Proven ability to translate complex data into actionable business insights in a cross‑functional environment. * Excellent analytical, programming, and communication skills. **Key Responsibilities:** 1. Analyze pipeline inspection data, create sizing curves, and incorporate client‑pipeline dig results. 2. Produce Unity plots according to API 1163 for all collected data. 3. Collaborate with R&D to refine pipeline inspection tool specifications. 4. Design, update, and validate models for detection, sizing, and classification of pipeline anomalies. 5. Partner with engineering, data analysis, and sales teams to set priorities, develop plans, and report progress. 6. Participate in hardware and software development activities, providing input on design direction. 7. Propose process and product improvements based on data analysis. 8. Monitor market trends and emerging technologies in pipeline inspection, challenging status‑quo practices. 9. Attend client meetings to bridge gaps between results and expectations, presenting findings with clarity. **Required Skills:** * Advanced analytical and problem‑solving skills. * Proficiency in Python (and related libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, scikit‑learn, TensorFlow/PyTorch). * Experience developing machine‑learning algorithms for classification, sizing, and anomaly detection. * Working knowledge of MFL sensor systems and inline inspection data. * Ability to create technical reports and present complex information effectively. * Strong written and verbal communication skills. **Required Education & Certifications:** * Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. * Familiarity with API 1163 and relevant pipeline inspection standards is essential. ---
