Job Description
Job Title: Eco‑Design Engineer (M/F) Role Summary: Drive the integration of sustainability into product development by leading carbon footprint and life‑cycle analyses, managing site‑wide carbon accounting, and collaborating with R&D, marketing, and cross‑functional teams to accelerate decarbonisation and RSE objectives. Expectations: - Lead and maintain accurate carbon balance for all company sites. - Serve as the internal carbon and LCA specialist, providing data for all products and materials. - Guide R&D in creating high‑impact eco‑designed product ranges. - Contribute to broader RSE initiatives, including internal awareness campaigns, ESG reporting, and external stakeholder engagement. Key Responsibilities: 1. Pilot and update carbon accounting for all sites, ensuring compliance with internal targets and external regulations. 2. Conduct and interpret life‑cycle assessments (LCA) for products and raw materials, recommending design and material improvements. 3. Partner with R&D to embed eco‑design principles into new product development cycles. 4. Support decarbonisation projects and track progress against group environmental goals. 5. Draft and contribute to ESG/RSE reports and maintain a repository of relevant literature and best practices. 6. Act as a RSE ambassador, promoting sustainable practices internally and externally. Required Skills: - Expertise in carbon accounting methodologies and LCA software. - Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data management and interpretation. - Excellent communication and collaboration abilities in cross‑functional settings. - Detail‑oriented, disciplined, and organized. - Professional proficiency in English. Required Education & Certifications: - Master’s degree (Bac+5) in Chemistry, Sustainable Development, or related field. - Minimum bachelor’s degree (Bac+2) in Chemistry – a prerequisite. - Relevant experience in implementing carbon balance and LCA is preferred.
