Job Description
Job title: Procurement Assistant Role Summary: Assist the head of procurement and quality for raw materials in a luxury headwear company, driving the development and execution of sourcing policies, supplier management, and operations of material procurement. Expectations: Deliver accurate and timely procurement activities that support product quality, cost control, and delivery performance. Provide analytical support to senior managers, maintain supplier data, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. Key Responsibilities: - Contribute to building the materials purchasing strategy, including family mapping, supplier SWOT, and implementation plans. - Manage supplier documentation (tier‑1/2 files, new‑supplier questionnaires). - Support sourcing projects for new materials and lead price & terms negotiations, including technical collaboration. - Cultivate long‑term supplier and pattern‑maker relationships to ensure skill retention and supply security. - Coordinate master‑file inclusion and supervise purchase order creation, delivery updates, and invoicing. - Produce weekly material supply reports highlighting lead‑time variances, stock‑out alerts, and order backlogs. - Determine and maintain required stock covering for repeat components. - Oversee inbound flow tracking (expected, in‑process, receipt, inspection, storage). - Resolve receipt anomalies and coordinate corrective actions. - Partner with material development to schedule material testing and compile results. - Implement quality controls and share findings with finished‑product quality teams. - Track and disseminate quality indicators. Required Skills: - Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with Power BI is advantageous. - Basic to intermediate English, additional Italian language skills preferred. - Strong analytical and organizational abilities, with attention to detail. - Ability to prioritize demands and work collaboratively in a dynamic environment. Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor of Science or Master’s level (Bac+4/5) in Supply Chain, Textile Engineering, or Business Administration. - Prior experience in a procurement or supply‑chain support role (internship or entry‑level position).
