Job Title
Junior Backend Engineer
Job Description
**Job Title** Junior Backend Engineer **Role Summary** Design and implement the data and control layer that connects market APIs, power exchanges, and industrial telemetry to enable real‑time trading and operational decisions for an energy optimisation platform. **Expectations** - Deliver robust, low‑latency integrations that consume live market and telemetry data. - Work collaboratively with data scientists, SRE teams, and product stakeholders to translate models into real‑time APIs. - Write maintainable, observable code with proper validation, retries, and fallback mechanisms. - Contribute to architectural decisions around scalability, reliability, and performance. **Key Responsibilities** - Develop and maintain market integration modules (day‑ahead, intraday, capacity bidding). - Build telemetry connectors to customer systems and power grid operator interfaces. - Design and expose APIs and data pipelines feeding models and trading logic. - Implement asynchronous or event‑driven processing for high‑volume data streams. - Integrate with message brokers (Kafka, etc.) to support reliable event delivery. - Collaborate with SRE on CI/CD, monitoring, and observability best practices. - Evaluate and adopt cloud/container solutions (e.g., Azure, Docker, Kubernetes) to support deployment and scaling. **Required Skills** - Strong Python programming with asynchronous/event‑driven patterns. - Experience with RESTful and/or GraphQL APIs, data ingestion, and integration patterns. - Familiarity with message brokers (Kafka, RabbitMQ) preferred. - Knowledge of containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes) preferred. - Practical understanding of observability, CI/CD, and error‑handling strategies. - Problem‑solving mindset, emphasis on clean, maintainable, and observable code. **Required Education & Certifications** - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).

Job Title
Site Reliability Engineer
Job Description
Job title: Site Reliability Engineer Role Summary: Own and evolve the Azure-based infrastructure that powers a real‑time energy optimisation platform, ensuring continuous delivery, low latency, and high availability for data science and backend services. Expectations: Deliver reliable, scalable systems; implement CI/CD, observability, and IaC; support safe releases and rapid incident response; drive cost‑efficient growth across the stack. Key Responsibilities: - Design, deploy, and maintain Azure cloud environment, Terraform, Docker, and Kubernetes configurations. - Build and manage end‑to‑end CI/CD pipelines for data science models and backend services. - Configure observability stack (metrics, logs, traces, dashboards) and define SLOs/SLIs. - Automate safety roll‑outs, rollbacks, and on‑call processes for production deployments. - Evaluate and implement performance optimisations, scalability, and cost‑efficiency measures. - Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate infrastructure changes with software releases. Required Skills: - Hands‑on experience with CI/CD pipelines, container orchestration (K8s), and infrastructure‑as‑code (Terraform). - Proficiency with Azure cloud services and command‑line tooling. - Scripting in Python or Bash for automation and tooling. - Strong understanding of system performance, latency, and reliability best practices. - Excellent communication, problem‑solving, and structured documentation skills. - Familiarity with monitoring/observability stacks; experience with streaming/data pipelines (Kafka/Redpanda) is a plus. - Exposure to mission‑critical domains (energy, trading) or distributed real‑time workloads is advantageous. Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience. - Relevant cloud or DevOps certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure DevOps Engineer Expert) preferred but not mandatory.
