**Job Title:** ServiceNow Developer (ESOM – SAM)
**Role Summary:**
Design, develop, test, and implement ServiceNow solutions focused on IT Service Management (ITSM), Information Technology Asset Management (ITAM), Hardware Asset Management (HAM), and Software Asset Management (SAM) within a VA end‑user support environment. Lead technical delivery, mentor junior staff, and ensure compliance with agency standards and ITIL best practices.
**Expectations:**
- Execute end‑to‑end SDLC for large ServiceNow projects.
- Deliver secure, scalable solutions that meet VA requirements.
- Collaborate effectively with stakeholders, vendors, and partners.
- Mentor and train internal users and junior developers.
- Maintain compliance with VA regulations and ITSM frameworks.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Conduct solution design, create detailed documentation, and deliver graphical representations.
- Identify innovation opportunities and continuous improvement in ITSM practices.
- Assess risks, recommend mitigation strategies, and align solutions with business objectives.
- Lead implementation teams, ensuring adherence to best practices.
- Develop and support training programs for staff and end‑users.
- Engage with business leaders to gather requirements and provide technical guidance.
- Build relationships with partners, vendors, and internal stakeholders to facilitate solution delivery.
- Define and enforce IT standards, policies, and procedures for consistency and compliance.
- Remain current on market trends, emerging technologies, and potential integration opportunities.
**Required Skills:**
- Minimum 8 years of ServiceNow solution development or equivalent ITAM/SAM experience.
- Expertise in ServiceNow platform, SAM/HAM Pro modules, Service Catalog, and CMDB.
- Strong grasp of ITIL, Agile methodologies, and SDLC testing practices.
- Proven experience in SAM implementation and integration with enterprise/cloud systems.
- Solid understanding of security best practices for ITSM solutions.
- Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication; capable of explaining complex concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
- Self‑motivated, able to work independently on projects while collaborating with teams.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, Engineering, or related field, OR 8 years of relevant experience substituting for degree.
- Preferred: Advanced degree or professional certifications (e.g., ServiceNow Certified System Administrator/Developer, ITIL Foundation, or similar).
